Hog Receiving and Hog Barn

Keeping a low stress environment for hogs is critical to ensuring good meat quality. Therefore, Lethbridge trains all barn employees in proper hog handling techniques. We ensure that hogs from each producer do not get mixed with each other, as this is stressful for the animals. We prohibit the use of electric prods in the barns. And, of course, hogs are well rested (usually overnight) before going to be processed.
